from Mon., 9/17--after Homecoming

A single piece of
toasted toast
fell  to the floor,
tumbling, turning,
in an acrobatic
attempt to land
lavishly on the
unjellied underbelly
of the brown
hued face of victory.

-----

The darkness sweeps
     you away
As you lay under the
     dim light,
The stars shine above
     you.
As you  hold the one
     you love.

-----

Fire-place crackles
next to the sound
of rushing water--
laughter fills teh air,
arms around waists,
sitting closely.

-----

As the world hums
in an anxious fevor,
riddled with guilty pleasure,
I lay
content,
with no one.

-----

Fake fiends everywhere,
no one in sight,
went home alone,
with ice cream delight.

-----

Sour.
Sweet.
Gone.
