from Mon., 9/17--after Homecoming

A single piece of
toasted toast
fell  to the floor,
tumbling, turning,
in an acrobatic
attempt to land
lavishly on the
unjellied underbelly
of the brown
hued face of victory.

-----

The darkness sweeps
     you away
As you lay under the
     dim light,
The stars shine above
     you.
As you  hold the one
     you love.

-----

Fire-place crackles
next to the sound
of rushing water--
laughter fills teh air,
arms around waists,
sitting closely.

-----

As the world hums
in an anxious fevor,
riddled with guilty pleasure,
I lay
content,
with no one.

-----

Fake fiends everywhere,
no one in sight,
went home alone,
with ice cream delight.

-----

Sour.
Sweet.
Gone.

from Mon., 9/10

The crowd screams,
we eat ice cream
as we rush
in the hush
of the night.

-----

I walk the field, realizing
how close I am to my
heart. Steve tells me
to never lose that.

-----

the trees' twigs
scattered on the
ground, the two
trees' branches
battling for
more room on
the meadow.

-----

A cinnamony
marvelous bowl
of crunchy sweet
wonder, and
once the crunch
was gone I was
serenaded with
the milk that
was filled with
joy and happiness.

-----

Two sweaty grilled
cheese stand face
to face, lips locked
under the beating heat
lamp.

-----

Laying under the sun,
We hold each other close,
Knowing full well

that this is the last time

we will.
