from Monday, November 26th

Sleep: not gotten.
Fun: had.
Problems: none.

-----

The gravy falls
down the potatoes
like melted snow
streaming down
a mountain.

-----

A burst of energy surges
into my veins!

I rush about the
room, putting on my
pants in a tornado of
excitement. This
may be the only
time I get to see
God's eyes open.

-----

Memories of what was
once ago

float dreamily
in the sea-foam shores
shown in the eyes that
hold me.

Held me.

-----

Every step
Every word
Every movement
Every breath.

Calculated and precise
like strokes of a paintbrush
or a surgeon's scalpel.

All choreographed to look

effortless....

Tuesday, November 13, 2018

from Mon., 11/12

30 minutes in the car,
2 hours meeting friends,
1.5 hours of a show,

just trying to get
10 minutes with you.

-----

7am hot tub
snow stories.

-----

Sleepy harmonies,
rainbow lights,

tight in your arms:

my heaven.

-----

Slaving away
bringing burning hot
food
to old people
as old as dirt.

-----

Quiet like the snow
the soft breaths of
my pets as they snooze
a peaceful day at
home.

Thursday, November 8, 2018

from Mon., Nov. 5th

cold songs
filter through
the bare branches.

-----

I spilled my
cereal in
my belly button

and now

I'm sad,

but I'm still rad.

-----

Chilled skin stab against
the hail induced, wind whispered
sky.

Shoes ripping through
the artificial grounding,
breath heavy, silent.

An end of an era,

a dynasty,

a world.

-----

Someone should
see the way
he throws a bowling ball.

His dorky grin
makes me laugh--
someone should
date this boy.

-----

We sit on the
patio, the sky was
gorgeous this weekend.

Wrapped-up in blankets
and a complicated love
pentagon.

This weekend is certainly
the start of a new season.

-----

Through drought
and famine,
natural disaster,
my baby has been around
for me.

-----

Blurry traffic
lights, tear-
filled eyes,
re-thinking life.

Friday, November 2, 2018

from Mon., 10/29

Sharp #2 pencils
click against
the faux wood desks.

The air is thick with
stress & fear.

Four hours to pour
four years of education
onto a scantron.

-----

Workin' all day,
hurtin' all night,
just to get paid,
just to have a life.

Free food is cool
and so is ice.
Don't be a fool:
pumpkin spice!

-----

The leaves shimmer
in the cool fall air,
as life seems to piece
itself together.

Adulthood and childhood
converge,

in a bittersweet hug,
atop a grassy hill.

-----

Acrilic paint filling the
air,
drying on cold hands:

Lovely chaos

Turns beauty.
